Our Club

Founded in 1984 as a constituent of St. Mary's GAA Club, Leixlip Handball Club can claim to have made a distinct and significant contribution to community and sporting life in the Leixlip area. Handball is now well established in an area where no tradition had previously existed and the club has had much national and international competitive success. The club is positive and optimistic about the future of our national game and is committed to playing its part in ensuring that future.

The main emphasis of club policy has always been on the promotion of the game at youth level. Currently there are upwards of 40 young people being catered for in the club's Coaching Programme and this is supported by a strong parent base. A vibrant adult section also exists with the fruits of the long-standing youth policy now showing at the highest levels of the game.

The club's 40x20 court, with its extensive viewing area and ancillary facilities, is part of the main St. Mary's complex which comprises a modern health and fitness club, bar and function rooms together with a full range of outdoor facilities for football, hurling and camogie [see leixlipgaa.ie].

Leixlip is a town of approximately 15,000 people on the outskirts of Dublin. It's a nice place, with a rich history and lots to offer the visitor. For detailed information, check out the town's website at http://www.kildare.ie/leixlip/.
