Playing/Scoring Rules

  1. Each league team will consist of a panel of not less than 4 and not more than 6 players.
  2. Additional players may join a panel provided that they have not previously played for another team in that year's league
  3. Each team must have at least 4 players available for each match. An exception may be made on one occasion only per team per season where a team may use only 3 players provided they cannot field more.
  4. The order of play is 1st Singles, Doubles, 2nd Singles. This order may be altered only with the agreement of both teams
  5. Games will consist (in singles) of 2 x 15 aces and (in doubles) of 2 x 15 aces with a tie break to 11 if each team has won a game of 15 aces
  6. Two time outs per side in a game to 15 and 1 per side in a game of 11 aces will be allowed. Each time out will last for 30 seconds
  7. One point will be awarded for each game won (3 points in doubles for 2 x straight games to 15 aces). This scoring method will be used for qualification games.
  8. League semi-finals and finals will be played using games of the same duration as during qualification, however, the winner will be determined on aggregate aces and the doubles must play the tie break to 11 regardless of the outcome of the two games to 15.

In the event of a tie when all games in a semi-final or final are finished any two players from each side of the 4 who participated in the semi-final or final will re-enter the court to play a single game to 15 aces to decide the winner.

*Scoring System
See Rules 5 and 7. Result shows points scored in each of the three matches - Leixlip scores first. Overall total determines result.
